Helpful Tips

Ketubah Sizes

The amount of text chosen may require the ketubah to be printed at a larger size.  This generally occurs when an English section is added to the Hebrew text.  We will inform you of any necessary size changes.

Changes or modifications in the text or signing lines

Small changes to the text or the number of signing lines can usually be accommodated.  For example, as rabbis may differ on certain letters in Orthodox or Conservative texts, we can add or omit a letter according to your rabbi’s standards. Please note these requests on your personalization form, under “Additional comments or requests”.

Change in text colour

Changes to the colour of the ketubah text can be made at no additional cost.  The preexisting text colours are chosen by the artist; however, if you wish to highlight a different colour to complement the artwork, feel free to do so.  Please indicate your request on the personalization form.

Text Proofs

Before the ketubah is printed, you will receive a proof of the text. It is crucial to have your rabbi or wedding officiant read and approve the proof before printing. If you have given approval and find a mistake after the ketubah has been printed, The Ketubah Garden is not responsible.  There is a $75 fee for reprinting.

Handling and Caring for your Ketubah

  • To avoid warping or creasing the paper, keep your ketubah lying flat in the cardboard in which it is packed. Do not roll it or put it in a shipping tube.
  • Always use clean and dry hands when handling the ketubah.
  • Use an acid-free, waterproof, ultra-fine pen to sign your ketubah.  These can be purchased in any art or stationery store.
  • Do not hang your ketubah in a source of direct light, as this will cause the artwork to fade.  A reputable framer can suggest proper glass and framing options to best preserve your ketubah.
